The night before surgery, you may eat a light meal ... preferably in the early evening. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. This includes coffee and water. You may brush you teeth, just remember not to swallow anything.

• Do not consume alcohol for at least 12 hours prior to arrival.
  
• No smoking or use of any tobacco products after midnight the night before surgery.

Notify the Surgery Center and your surgeon in the event ...

• You have elevated temperature, cough, cold, vomiting, or diarrhea since your last visit with your surgeon and the day of surgery
• You suspect you might be pregnant or experience a change in an existing pregnancy
• You are taking: aspirin, Ibuprophen, blood thinners, diet pills, or herbal medicines.
• You may need to discontinue certain medications prior to surgery. This must be discussed with your surgeon.

Plan to wear comfortable, casual, loose-fitting clothing that will easily fit over bandages and dressings.

• Remove all makeup, nail polish, perfume, cologne, and jewelry (including any body jewelry/piercings) before surgery.
• Please leave any valuables at home. Watches, eyeglasses, and/or rings may be left with the person who brings you to your procedure.
